Ride California’s wildest coasters

From the 153-foot drop of Emperor, California’s tallest dive coaster, to the looping rush of Electric Eel and the family-friendly twists of Manta, SeaWorld San Diego proves that education and adrenaline make perfect waves together.

Big fun for little explorers

At Rescue Jr., kids can play marine heroes for a day—piloting rescue boats, exploring splash zones, and meeting friendly animal ambassadors. It’s hands-on fun that inspires care for the ocean.

Up-close marine life encounters

Hand-feed turtles, meet emperor penguins, or tour behind the scenes with trainers on exclusive animal experiences, including Dining with Orcas. Your options are endless, and so are the conserved marine lives at SeaWorld San Diego.

Things to know before booking SeaWorld San Diego tickets

  1. Choose based on visit frequency: Any-Day Tickets are best for one-off visits, while Fun Cards and Annual Passes offer better value if you plan to return multiple times.
  2. Families with younger kids: The SeaWorld & Sesame Place 2-Park Ticket is the only option that includes Sesame Place San Diego, making it ideal for families with toddlers and preschoolers.
  3. Dining is optional: All-Day Dining Deals are available only on selected Any-Day and 2-Day ticket variants, allowing you to enjoy meals every 90 minutes at participating restaurants.
  4. Check validity periods: 2-Day Tickets must be used within 14 days of your first visit, while Fun Cards and Annual Passes remain valid through 2026.
  5. Watch for blackout dates: Fun Cards have select 2026 blackout dates, so review these before booking if you're visiting during holiday periods.
  6. Parking is extra: General parking is not included with these ticket options and should be budgeted separately.
  7. Book the right flexibility: If your travel dates aren't fixed, choose Any-Day Tickets. If you're staying longer or live nearby, a Fun Card or Annual Pass offers greater value.

A visual guide to SeaWorld San Diego

How the park’s laid out

SeaWorld San Diego stretches along the beautiful shores of Mission Bay, with attractions circling a large central lagoon. The park’s zones flow naturally into each other, making it easy to explore without backtracking.

Thrill zones

Thrill rides are placed toward the outer edges and corners of the park, keeping the central areas for exhibits and shows. For example, the headline coaster Emperor is located in the back, near Wild Arctic. Mid-rides like Manta and Electric Eel sit closer to the central loop, making it easy to jump between coasters.

Show stoppers

Major presentations such as Orca Encounter and Dolphin Adventures occur at large amphitheaters positioned around the central lagoon area. Plan your lap around their showtimes to avoid criss-crossing the park.

Getting around

SeaWorld is entirely walkable; no internal shuttles are required. Flat, paved pathways link every attraction. Signage is frequent and clear, guiding you to rides, exhibits, dining, and rest areas. The looped layout means you'll almost always travel forward rather than retracing steps.

How to Navigate?

  • Pick up a paper map at the gate, then switch to the SeaWorld Orlando app for live show schedules and wait times.
  • Many visitors begin at Explorer’s Reef and follow a clockwise route; this tends to avoid the busiest crowds.
  • Use the map to pace your day;  alternate high-energy rides with calm animal exhibits, and slot show times between meals or breaks.
  • Favorite your must-see attractions, and the map will help you get there through the most efficient route.

Pro tip: Treat the map as more than just directions; use it as your schedule builder.
